There are two popular traditional sports games that are played in Ireland these are Gaelic football and Hurling.

Gaelic football is similar to soccer and rugby in that it is played with a ball on a field.

Hurling is a fast field sport played with sticks that resemble those used in hockey.

Young girls and women play a sport similar to Hurling called Camogie.

Other sports that are played are soccer, rugby, golf, darts, horse racing, and fishing. All of these are professional sports except darts and fishing.
